Will there be extra time and penalties in the Carabao Cup final?

With fixture congestion a real issue for EFL clubs, action has been taken this season. There will be no 30 minutes extra-time in the Carabao Cup, with games going straight to a penalty shootout if they finish level.Shootouts have reverted back to the traditional format, rather than the ABBA penalty format which was used last season. The EFL hopes the change will help reduce fatigue in players after the midweek games. And the competition will only bring in a two-legged format once it reaches the semi-final stage. In the event of a draw at the semi-final stage after both legs, the away goal rule doesn’t apply and there is no extra-time.The final follows the more traditional format, however and if both teams are drawing after 90 minutes, penalties will only take place after extra time.

Is VAR in operation?

Premier League clubs voted against the Video Assistant Referee being used this term in the top-flight.But in the Carabao Cup it will be used at every home match played by top-flight teams.Last year only the semi-finals and final saw the use of VAR.

The easiest way to calm things would be to get rid of Pardeux and bring in (for once) a decent manager, one who understands the modern game, someone like Rodgers, or Matinez, even Steve Clarke who IMO was given a raw deal, but who could be ideal for this side. Plus earn Ashley a lotta points from a majority of the fans.
