Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has nothing to lose as caretaker Manchester United boss and could even land the job on a full-time basis, according to Neil Warnock.Solskjaer’s first game in charge of the Red Devils following Jose Mourinhos sacking comes at Cardiff who he led to relegation from the Premier League in an ill-fated nine month spell in 2014.3

The former striker has left his role at Molde to take the reins at Old Trafford, and is expected to return to the Norwegian club in the summer.However, Solskjaer admitted during his first United press conference on Friday that he would love the permanent job.And Cardiff boss Warnock believes theres every chance he could get it if he makes a success of his interim stint.“I think it’s the best job Ole will have in his life, because he can’t lose really,” Warnock said ahead of Saturday’s game.“He’ll hold the fort until the end of the season, he’s there for at least six months and if he does well he’ll get a couple of years.“And if he doesn’t, he goes back to where he was enjoying anyhow.”3

Warnock admits this is probably the worst time to face United, as they look to bounce back from their worst ever start to a Premier League season under Mourinho.They will aim to do so with an Old Trafford legend and firm fan favourite at the helm, and Warnock admits theres no better feeling for a manager than taking charge of a club you love.“I think it’s the worst time you could play them, so many people wanting to prove things, the veteran coach added.“He [Solskjaer ] won’t have believed the phone call he got originally, and he’ll still be on cloud nine.“I remember driving into Bramall Lane and just sitting at the back of the car park, looking at ‘Sheffield United Football Club’.“I think I spent an hour and a half there. I remember speaking to my mum and dad as you do.3

“So it’s a tremendous feeling you get [managing a club you love]. You don’t often go into a club that have got ability like they’ve got, so they’re very fortunate like that.“He knows the fans, he was amazing for them as a player, so he’s going to get a starter anyhow. I can’t see how he can lose.“Worst comes to worst, they finish where they are now and he goes back home.“The next four or five games, they should win them all, everyone’s saying, so that will be a great start for him.”
