Wesley Hoedt has left Southampton to join Celta Vigo on a loan deal until the end of the season.Netherlands international Hoedt has not featured for Saints under new manager Ralph Hasenhuttl, with his most recent appearance coming in a 3-2 defeat by Fulham that became Mark Hughes’ penultimate match in charge.The deal taking the 24-year-old to Spain includes an option for Celta to make the move permanent in the summer.

He has made 45 appearances for the south coast club in all competitions, with his only goal coming in last season’s FA Cup defeat of West Brom.Hoedt, who won the most recent of his six international caps against Bulgaria in September 2017, joins fellow Saints loanee Sofiane Boufal at Celta.The centre-back’s new side are battling relegation from LaLiga, sitting a point and a place above the relegation zone in 17th.
